Hide Yo Kids, Hide Yo Wife.
It sure is time to write something new. In the latest news, I'm still on deployment on-board USS Chung-Hoon. Three months into it as of Sept 1st. Our halfway mark. Currently I'm on 90 days of what-they-call "Crank Duty" or FSA (Food Service Specialist". Basically doing dishes, preparing food (Not making it, that's the cooks), lots and lots of cleaning, including wiping down tables and busing lazy sailors' dishes and cups to the dishwasher, keeping coffee stocked as well as other things on the mess decks. It sure is a tiring job, but as with many other things. Someone has to do it. I still get paid well and I have fancy hours as of late, so I no complain too much. Lately, I've been the "Night Crank", only one tired soul on the mess decks responsible for all the work from about 8 pm to 6 am. We serve a meal at 11pm for people getting off watch, so there's gotta be someone there to clean the pots and pans and trays. Who's that you say. Duh, me.
So far this deployment, we've traveled to Singapore (like all deployments), Palawan Philippines, Da Nang Vietnam (Which was Awesome!) and then back to Singapore again. Twice. We have some very very very exciting port visits coming up in the future (which I can't tell you) But I promise. They're very exciting.
I recently discovered something astonishing on the interwebz. My original work Malamute Penguin was ripped off in a very entertaining way. Go ahead and check it out, just Google Image Search for Pengwolf. You'll find it. I was very entertained that someone did this and it spread all over the internet so rapidly, making it impossible to have it removed from every website. So nonetheless, I'm honored that it became a meme (in some peoples eyes). Although that basically leaves me out of attempting to sell any prints of it here. Basically no one believes that I'm the original author of the picture, even when they see the dA page and note my Copyright and Submitted on: December 22th, 2006. Apparently stupid people cannot be convinced either direction. Enough ranting on that one.
Gabby and I are still going strong. Four months dating as of next week. Deployment has been rough on her but I know she is understanding and knows that I don't want it this way either. We talk almost every day and I devote what free time I can find while underway to hop on Facebook and maybe have a quick chat. While I was in Singapore, I bought a foreign celley a phone and talked and texted with her all day. Cost me a pretty penny. All worth it in the long run. Her and I will be traveling separately when I go on leave to my hometown to spend some R&R together at mum's house. I cannot wait. It'll be the trip of a lifetime. You'll see.
I think that about wraps it up for my overdo update. Its past my bedtime anyway. 9am is rolling around and I have to sleep at some point to work alllll night long again. Love Peace and Sushi lovely ones. Deuces <3. Be sure to have a look at my new chatroom. Share your art or just sit back and chat. [link]Stamps I made
